Spring Break - Thursday

As luck would have it, Jared's rotation home landed on the same week that the kids had spring break.  I had some vacation time so I took a few days.  We decided we wanted to go someplace close to home so we picked Las Vegas.  I know what some of your are thinking, but honestly I love it there.  It might be the fact that I lived there many years ago, but I really do love it. 

Thursday we packed up and headed straight past Las Vegas to Boulder City, NV. We like teaching our kids about our country so we thought it would be fun to go to Hoover Dam and take the Dam tour. :)

They have a nice parking garage there and then you can walk around up on top of the bridge or go to the visitors center.  Once inside the visitors center we watched a movie about the making of the dam and then we rode the elevator with our group to the tunnels below.  The whole thing was great.  We all learned so much.  Of course I cried when we got to the monument honoring those who died during the making of the dam.  I am such a baby.
