Mini Monday #2

Potty Training = nightmare.

I swear I have no idea what I'm doing.  You would think that by the third child I would have this potty training thing down.  But no I don't.  The girls just potty trained themselves.  One day they woke up and wanted to be done with their diapers so that was that.  No accidents, nothing.  Lucas on the other hand, well...

If you sit him up on the toilet he goes just fine.  But trying to get him to remember to actually go to the bathroom is another story.  He would rather just play.  But we are finally past the screaming fit throwing phase when we try to put underpants on him.  He will actually wear them now.  So wish me good luck because I really want to be done with diapers.

P.S.  Any suggestions on how to potty train a boy would be helpful.  (This morning I told him that if he pooped in his underwear the monsters would come to get him.  So that is why he needs to poop on the potty  so the monsters will chase the poop down the potty and out of the house.  I know mom of the year right here.)

That's hilarious you told him that! Maybe I'll have to try it with Gavin. I completely agree with your whole post. I feel like I've never done this before, my other two seemed so easy as well. Good Luck!! (:

When we potty trained Kooper, we told him once we went pee and poop in the potty with no accidents he could get a bike. That kinda worked but for a while he still pooped his pants. We decided to box up ALL his toys (I mean every single toy) and every time he pooped in the potty he got to get a box of toys back. If he pooped in his pants after he got a box back we took the box away again. That is what we did to get Kooper completely trained. Good Luck!

Check out this sight if you get a chance. I was on Pinterest today and there were 35 tips and tricks to potty training, I actually got some good ideas to try out. Again, best of luck (to us both!) (:

Good luck...bribery works like a charm. I made him a potty chart and he got to put stickers on it when he went pee, 2 for poo. When he filled a row he got to pick a toy/treat out of a basket (things I got from dollar store) When Ezra got all the way potty trained (dry during the day, he still wears a pull up at night) Phil took him on a tractor ride, and dumptruck ride. Good luck!
