Alaska - Tuesday

Tuesday July 21, 2011

We left Alaska at 8:00 am and got to Seattle Washington around 11:30 their time.  At first we thought about just hanging out in the airport for the next 8 hours till our flight left for Salt Lake but honestly who really wants to sit in an airport all day?  So we found a little place to check our luggage and we ventured out.

We took the light rail from the airport to downtown Seattle then got on another little monorail to go to the Space Needle.  It's something I have always wanted to see, so this was our chance.

We all look just lovely don't we.  I guess it's from traveling, but...

It really was so cool to see the space needle and to go up in it.  I didn't know the history of it and it really is pretty cool. "Built in 1962, the Space Needle served as the symbol of that year's World's Fair. It has since become the symbol of Seattle, and one of the most recognizable structures in the world."

After we went up in the space needle we had lunch at the Seattle Center and took the monorail and light rails back to the airport.  We caught our flight and made it home to Salt Lake around midnight.  It really was a wonderful trip and something I will never forget.
