Bad Luck

A couple of weekends ago, you know the weekend we had all the rain, my sister Mary and her daughter Trinity came up for a visit. They came on Thursday night and that's when it clouded up and started to rain. We spent all weekend inside, except for the little while when I took Mary out for ice cream and we rented movies.

My basement flooded while Mary was here and Lucas came down with Hand, Foot, & Mouth disease, which we thought was chicken pox. I felt really bad, it wasn't a great weekend. On the plus side, we did have some really great food and it was great to see my sister. I'm hoping we will have a lot more fun when she comes up again in July.
Notice the damage to the wall. Luckily we caught it early and we were able to get it all cleaned up and dried out. Plus we managed to get the smell out of the basement, which for a little while was completely unbearable. I recommend to anyone who has a minor flood to rent a dehumidifier. I can't believe what a huge difference it made along with the fan. Everything was completely dry within 36 hours.
