A couple of weeks ago we took the kids out to Pipe Spring National Monument. We were on our way to Grand Canyon and we saw the sign on the road so we took a quick detour and decided to go see the monument. I guess when I think of a monument I automatically imagine a plaque or something small to signify the place. But we were pleasantly surprised to find out that it is actually a working farm. They have some animals and a garden and people that work there to take care of those things as well as give the tours.
MaKady thought this little cup was too funny. She wanted a picture to remember it. It's called a mustache cup and it was used by men that had mustaches to keep them clean.
This is the actual spring that is piped into the building and then back out. The water was so clear and cold.
The kids each got to do a little scavenger hunt and questionnaire during the tour and then they got to be Jr. Ranger's. They each got a little badge and everything. We didn't know this before but all of the national Parks have a Jr. Ranger program, so we will have to remember that for next time.
