30...Here we go!!

On Friday September 11, 2009 I turned 30. I honestly never imagined this day would get here as quickly as it did. Life just seems to be flying by. But on the plus side turning 30 wasn't nearly as overwhelming as I imagined it would be. No, I don't look the way I did when I was 20, but that's okay. I've learned a lot in the last ten years, and I hope that in ten more years I can look back and say that I learned even more. I am starting to get a few wrinkles and I'm not a rich movie star like I imagined (oh, come on, isn't that everyone's dream) but that's okay too. I love my life and I wouldn't trade it for anything. Here's to aging gracefully!!!
My awesome sister Tabitha brought my one of my favorite things for my birthday. A carmel apple from Rocky Mountain chocolate Factory. We ate if for breakfast. It was so awesome.
I spent the weekend with my family, we had a little bbq and just hung out. It really was a lot of fun.

7 Months Old

Another month has come and gone. Lucas just keeps getting bigger and he learns more each day. This month he has really gotten good at sitting up all by himself. He is still so smiley and happy. He has been grabbing at everything. One day I set him on the dining room table in his bumbo chair like I always do right before I feed him and he turned around in the chair and starting grabbing handfuls of dirt out of my flower pot and throwing them on the floor. When I scolded him, he just grinned and kept doing it.

He is starting to like more food, but not baby food. He will eat bananas and oatmeal, but that is it as far as baby food. He loves green beans straight out of the can, he also loves otter pops. But over all he prefers a bottle.

He is starting to talk a little bit. He has been saying "dada" (you should see Jared's face light up when he says it, it's like watching a little kid opening presents on Christmas morning), he also says "baba", "baby", "hi", and the other day Jared was feeding him bananas and he said "banana" clear as day. He hasn't said it since but it was so adorable the one time.

He hasn't started to crawl or scoot or anything, but I think that is partly because none of us can put him down. He is a little spoiled when it comes to everyone wanting to hold him. When we set him on the floor he will roll over on his stomach and then put his head down and just lay there until someone flips him over or until he gets bored and rolls back over by himself. One of these days I think he will just start crawling, but not yet!
We are enjoying him as always. He is just such a joy to have around!!

He was all worn out. I seriously left them downstairs for 10 minutes and when I came back he was asleep like this. What cute kids!!!

Happy Birthday MaKady!!

My beautiful, sweet, talented, and funny girl MaKady is 12 today. She is turning into such a nice young lady. For her birthday she had a few friends over for a sleepover. We ate homemade cafe rio chicken salad and individual cheesecakes. The girls played games and watched movies and painted nails. Fun!! Today my parents came down with my sister Tori, Great Grandma Elaine, and Trinity. It was so nice to see them and have them here.

MaKady gets to go to Young Women's tomorrow. She is really excited. She said her favorite present was the cell phone she got. (We finally caved in and got her one.) What a super cute girl she is. Happy Birthday MaKady!! We love you.

Back To School

The girls started school on Wednesday August 19, 2009. Makady is in Jr. High. She was so excited to go. Her friend Milena came over bright and early (6:15 am) and they made sure that they looked great. I was so excited and nervous for them.

Cutie Pie Paige!!! She is now in first grade. She was excited that she gets to stay at school all day and that she gets to eat lunch at school. (she said they had pizza on the first day)
Paige was also really excited that she gets to sit at a "real" desk this year instead of the tables that they sat at last year.

Weekend with Cousins

So this post is a week late, but I wanted to post it anyway. Last weekend my sister Mary and her daughter Trinity came down. They also brought Julie's son Brock. We had so much fun. We watched movies and played games and on Saturday we took the kids (plus my neighbors) to the red barn for yummy ice cream and then to the park to get out some of those wiggles. It was so fun!! We love having company.

Poor Jared, he didn't do anything fun with us. Instead he had to stay home and finish sanding and painting the dresser we bought for Lucas.

Another Weekend

About a year ago Jared asked his friend Nate Loveless if he would go skydiving with him. Nate said he would go skydiving when Jared could go through a session at the Las Vegas Temple. Well that day finally came.

On Friday we packed up the kids and headed to St. George. We dropped the kids off with Tabi and Kole. Jared and I went with Nate and his wife Traci to a session at the St. George temple. Then we took the kids to Pirate Island Pizza (again).

While we were at the temple Tabi and Kole took the kids to downtown St. George to play in the water.

Saturday Jared and I got up early and drove down to Las Vegas. We picked up Nate and Traci and went to the Boulder City Airport so Jared and Nate could go skydiving. It was fun to see how excited they were. Everything went so smoothly and they both had a blast.

Then after they were finished we went and did a session at the Las Vegas temple. Let me tell you that it is probably the prettiest temple I have seen so far. I think it's even prettier than Manti, which is hard to beat.

While we were in Las Vegas, Tabi and Kole took the kids to the Washington City swimming pool.

Today (Sunday) we just hung out and relaxed for most of the day, then we came home. It was such a nice weekend, and a good way to end the summer for the girls. They have had such a great summer. Neither of them are ready to go back to school.

6 Months

I can't believe my baby is already six months old. I know I say that every month, but honestly I can't believe how fast it all goes by. He has changed so much in the last month. We gave him another little haircut, just a little off the top, but it was the rest of his dark hair, now it's all gone and he is really turning blond. He is so cute, but I loved his dark hair. I saved it all in a little bag.

Lucas is still trying to sit up on his own, but he doesn't have the back strength to do it yet. We are still working on that. He is really starting to babble, and he has figured out how to put his hand up to his mouth to make some really funny noises. He laughs and giggles at everything. He is starting to like solid foods, although he still prefers the bottle. He loves bananas and butternut squash. He really hates apples and peas. He only took one bite of peas, gagged then spit them out. He is a chunky little boy, but at his last weigh in he was still only 16 1/2 lbs. He hasn't really gained any weight this month, but he is getting much taller. Paige is starting to have a hard time carrying him around because he is getting to big for her. I think he is going to catch up to her in size really quick.

We have taken Lucas swimming a couple of times and he really hates it. He cries even before we put him in the water because he knows what is coming. But he does love to take baths. It is so funny to watch him. We enjoy him so much. He is still such a sweet boy and so well mannered. I hope it lasts!!!

All Moved In

Well, we are finally all moved into the new house and I almost feel like we are getting back to normal. The kids are adjusting pretty well. I think it helps that we stayed in the same neighborhood and ward.

We had a fun weekend, moving and hanging out. Sunday we took a break from unpacking so that we could go to a baby blessing in Salt Lake. It's always good to see family. We had a luncheon at my uncle's house and I haven't been there in about 9 years. It was fun to see how some things had changed, but how a lot of things stayed the same. I used to spend 2 weeks every summer there and it brought back a lot of memories. While Jared and Lucas took a nap, MaKady, Paige, and I got to swing on the swing set out back. It was a really great way to spend a Sunday.

(We had pictures taken with Jared's family a little while ago, and we just got them back. I think they turned out cute.)
