Ice Skating

One of our family goals this year is to have family home evening every week. Which so far we have managed to do. (Amazing) We each take a turn planning the lessen or whatever activity so that we only have to be in charge once a month (Lucas is too little for a turn). So this week was Paige's turn. She has wanted to go ice skating all winter but we just haven't had the time to go. Finally on Monday night it was her turn to be in charge and so we went ice skating.

I had just planned on sitting on the benches with Lucas and watching, but when we got there they had these little tiny skates that were just his size. He thought it was pretty fun to have these things on. It was a so hard to hold him up so that he could skate with us. At one point I decided it would just be eaiser to carry him on my hip, so I went around the rink a few times carrying him, but then I got in trouble. :>) They politely told me that they didn't allow people to carry their children because of the falling hazard on the ice. So I managed to push him around the rink a few more times and then I was tired.

The girls had a blast. MaKady has been ice skating several times this year with the youth in our ward and also with her school so she is great at it. Paige had a little more trouble. She used a walker for a little while, but then got sick of it so she skated around by herself, falling every 10 feet or so, but always getting up and moving on. She is such a good little sport. We had so much fun and we are so proud of her for choosing a fun family activity for family night!!
