Last week was the Ute Stampede in Juab County. The whole thing lasted from Thursday - Saturday complete with a rodeo. We aren't big rodeo fans so Jared took the girls to the giant parade on Friday afternoon while I was at work. My sweet sister-in-law taught Paige how to run halfway down the block after the other kids so she could get some candy because she wasn't getting any candy just standing in one spot. Paige decided that she wanted to take her easter basket to the parade to put her candy in and I can tell you that that thing came home completely filled. MaKay got just as much if not more.
Friday night we took the girls to the "City of Fun" carnival and they had a blast. FYI - if you are taking your kids to a carnival and you have the option of buying tickets or getting them a wristband, I would go with the wrist band. I figured that after 4 rides I had the wristbands paid for, and the girls got to go on as many of the rides as they wanted, as many times as they wanted. It was great entertainment. I think their favorite ride was the slide. MaKady went on some of the big kid rides by herself and she didn't throw up. I was so proud of her.
One thing about coming from a small town is that you know just about everyone which can be good, but you always run the risk of bumping into a few ex girlfriends which is awkward even 10 years later. I won't go into details on this as it's just my raging jelousy, but believe me that once a year is just plenty for me. Lot's more fun next year. Oh, on a brighter note, Jared ended up working on Saturday so we didn't have the pleasure of going to the bathing beauty parade. If you don't know what that is then you are very lucky!!!

Wow the picture of the sack slide took me back to my childhood. I remember riding those slides and LOVING them. I have not seen one for a really long time, I will have to try to go next year and really go back to being a kid.
